A View To KentA View To Kent Video

Our journey starts in Rye West Sussex just over the border from Kent. We enter Kent on Romney Marsh, in years gone by notorious for smuggling, today it still has an air of mystery particularly in a winters mist. This first video is really concerned with West Kent some of the places explored being Tenterden, Tunbridge Wells, Chiddingstone, Penshurst, Lenham, Sutton Valence also included in our video are views of Chiddingstone Castle, Leeds Castle, Penshurst Place, Sissinghurst Castle and Bodiam Castle. Not forgetting attractions which take place throughout the year, we have included steam trains, hot air ballooning, morris dancing, and of course cricket on the village green. There is no narrative with this video.

 Canterbury

A video with full narrative which captures the feeling, sights, sounds and history of Canterbury.

Beginning with the Romans we travel through to modern times, visiting on the way St Augustines Abbey, the Cathedral Precincts, city walls, Black and Grey Friars and of course the city itself.

Settlements grew on either side of the river before the Romans and during the Roman occupation the town grew in importance until the 5th century.

St Augustine arrived in 597AD and established Christianity. He converted King Ethelbert and built the first  abbey where the Cathedral stands today.
