Penshurst |
The History of Penshurst Penshurst is a small village with great charm, the main focal point of the actual village is the church mainly due to its entrance and the way that it leads to a courtyard called Leicester Square and allows a scene of fabulous ancient houses. Penshurst is known best though for Penshurst Place and perhaps to one family that brought fame to the small Kentish village. The Sidney family were given the mansion in 1552 by Edward VI and remained there ever since.
